place a link to us on your site. Our system monitors all inward traffic,
and even one hit per month will prove the site is not defunct. It will then be less likely

achieve a proper ranking in the categories and search results.
We reserve the right to edit site titles and/or descriptions and move sites to different categories as we see fit.

How long before a comedy site is approved and listed?
Sites are usually approved within a few hours. Exceptions
arise when the site cannot be found (owing to server being down) or when the
content is under review
Why provide a reciprocal link back to HumorLinks?
Security. If a site's server if down for any length of time, or if we cannot connect to a site for some reason, we may assume the site is no longer operational and suspend the listing from our system. However, if the site has a link to us we will know (by monitoring the traffic) that it is still alive and kicking. The chances of the listing being suspended are therefore minimal.
Rankings. A reciprocal link (providing at least one hit per month) will give a site an advantage in the rankings in both the categories and search results.
Ratings. You can use a reciprocal link so people can vote for your site.

How it works: Star Listing sites start off with a Click Weight of 1,

Setting it to "0" suspends the listing's Star status and pauses the deduction of credits.
Any credits left are preserved until Star status is reactivated by setting the Click Weight to 1 or more.

Those with Star Listing.STAR LISTING. can instantly change their
site's Click Weight to adjust the credits deducted - from 1 credit
up to 50 credits per clickthrough. Sites with
greater priority (click weight x monthly hits) are listed above those with lower ones. A
site owner may adjust the click weight to 0 (zero) which temporarily turns off
the site's Star Listing. The remaining credits are preserved until Star Listing is reactivated by increasing the click weight to 1 (one) or
more. All Star listings lose their status after the credits run
out, and return to their normal "free listing" status
How do I remove my site's listing from HumorLinks?
The procedure for removing a site is simply to requesting removal. In your message, you should state the reason for removal and quote your password to avoid unauthorised people issuing the request.
What sort of listings get rejected or suspended by HumorLinks?
Usually, no listing will be rejected or suspended provided it: -
contains mainly humorous content (or links to
such content)
does not contain a large number pop-up
advertising windows
does not contain any illegal material
does not, by virtue of its content, cause
HumorLinks visitors or advertisers to complain en masse
is not already listed on HumorLinks
is not defunct. If it cannot be accessed for too
long a period of time, we shall assume the site is no longer available and suspend its listing
from our system. It is a good idea to set up a reciprocal link
to HumorLinks from your site so that we know for sure it is still there - even if
we are having trouble connecting.
My Site Listing has been suspended. What can I do about it?
Probably, your site appeared to be defunct. Please email us and we will reinstate it - together with the statistics.
I've forgotten my site's ID number. How do I get it?
If you need a reminder of your site's ID number, simply place your mouse cursor over your site's title in the listings. You can also click on the words 'Details' in the listing to bring up your site's facts and figures. This window will also show the Site ID Number under the logo at the top left of the pane

What is the free partner site option about?
It's like a slimmed-down, streamlined version of HumorLinks - tailor-made for your site. Via a simple link, your site can incorporate the HumorLinks search engine and directory, while using your site's own name and banner.
