Clarence:

How's the campaign against cigarette advertising coming along?

Marmaduke:

Well, we're facing big opposition from the tobacco companies, but I think we may be on the verge of a breakthrough.

Clarence:

How so?

Marmaduke:

Well, if all goes according to plan, three weeks from now there'll be a total ban on all forms of tobacco advertising - and sponsorship. You won't be able to find a single cigarette brand name anywhere in town, no matter where you look.

Clarence:

And you think you can get that ban approved by Legco?

Marmaduke:

I hope so. We've got a few big names backing us up.

Clarence:

Like who?

Marmaduke:

Well, there's the Duchess of Kent . . . the Duke of Marlborough . . . and the grandson of Winston - you know, Winston Churchill. We're going to use their names in a big media blitz against tobacco ads.

Clarence:

Well, with big names like that you can't fail. How did you manage to get them?

Marmaduke:

Oh, I don't know. Just call it a lucky strike.
