The government is to consider demolishing the Tsing Yi island bridge, following this
week's collision with an ocean-
Speaking after a fairly heavy lunch, he cited several occasions this year when the bridge had allegedly pulled itself free of its moorings, and had slammed into unsuspecting barges attempting to negotiate the narrow channel.
Collisions between the bridge and the barges, he said, had only begun to occur after the bridge was built, and so could not have been the fault of the barges. He said the bridge was "evil," and called on the government to demolish it as soon as possible.
