Bill's third reading. Industrial Waste and Sewage Disposal Scheme 1993. Does any member wish to speak? ... Does any member wish to yawn? ... Does any member wish to foam at the mouth with frustration and boredom? ... All right then. Does any member wish to play a silly game called China Says?

 

Jimmy:

Aye! I do!

 

Council President:

Mr. McGreggor? You're really that bored you want to play silly children's games?

 

Jimmy:

Aye. I think we all are. It would certainly make a change from discussing industrial sewage.

 

Council President:

All those in favour of playing a silly game say "Aye"!

 

Crowd:

Aye!

 

Council President:

Those against "No"! ... The Ayes have it. Game's First Playing. China says do this. China says do that. China says touch the top of your head. China says wiggle your left ear. China says scratch your nose. And scratch your bum! Hah! Caught you McGreggor.

 

Jimmy:

What do you mean? I was just copying what you did.

 

Council President:

But I didn't say "China says," you see, so it doesn't count and I'm afraid you're disqualified.

 

Jimmy:

But that's unfair. I didn't understand the rules beforehand.

 

Council President:

Oh come on McGreggor. You should know by now that you can't as much as scratch your arse in Hong Kong without first getting approval from China.
